To be honest, maybe you can feel so free in Gaziantep. Generally the neighborhoods in Gaziantep are not safe and mostly including some of drug gangs. But of course the touristic streets and neighborhoods are not like that much. When you come and visit here you shouldn't enter in every streets, it can be dangerous. I don't want to make you feel stress. Touristic streets, antique shops, cultural meals and coffees, historical buildings and museums worth seeing.

Gaziantep’s safety is up to the neighborhood you are at there is places that you can walk even at 2 am and there’s places that you can’t walk at 2 pm so you gotta be careful when you pick your clothes and the time and location combination must be correct to visit safely

Posted: January 30, 2025Gaziantep is a city that contains both heaven and hell. But I must point out that hell outweighs. If you are thinking of exploring Gaziantep with a local friend, I would suggest it because it is a very old city, it has a lot of culture, nice museums and very much delicious traditional dishes but I don't think it's safe for solo travelling. Unfortunately we may encounter verbal abuse in the late hours (not too late, after like 11 pm.) Although not often, you may encounter extortion. I've been living here for about 18 years, so I've become immune to Gaziantep. If you visit Gaziantep, you can use tram for transportation. There will be no problem because there are security guards at all tram stops. And maybe use apps like "Getir" to take taxi because it will let you know approximately how much it will cost to go ...there from ...somewhere.
