Quite safe for females and solo travellers, literally i live and work here so in general the locals are amiable and help whenever you needed. I like to stroll alone at night sometime and itās considered as a one of the capital city that is comfortable and secure.
Posted: February 18, 2025You can travel alone because Thai people are very kind and polite. But you must maintain basic safety, such as not asking for directions from strangers, but only asking for directions from officials.
Posted: January 18, 2025Pretty safe for traveller who travel alone. You can use public transport safely and easyliy. Street food and all the restaurants are safe. Hotels and hostels are also safe for everyone. Just be careful when walking on the street some street water drains are broken

Comparing Chiang Mai to many cities Iāve been in Russia, itās the safest place for me: I know that no one want to cause me any harm, even when Iām walking alone at night. Im not even locking my apartmentās door, cause I donāt feel like I need to. I wouldnāt do that in Russia ever. No matter what clothes Imm wearing, Iām not getting any extra attention, aggressive or violent, only things I hear ā itās cheerful compliments, thatās it.

I have only been here for 3 days so I honestly don't know, but the family I live with hasn't exactly warned me against going out or anything, they said they would walk through town with me tomorrow and when I went to the shopping centre I was totally fine.

I would say Thailand in general and phaya Thai is an overall good and safe place especially for woman like me. I'm comfortable and when I walk outside there are no eyes on me making me feel awkward or unsafe.
Posted: January 3, 2025I think it's better not to walk alone at night. there are a lot of drunk people in the city center. there are a lot of dogs on the outskirts. I think only tourists can be unsafe. women are often mistaken for prostitutes. Cab rides seem to be quite safe
Posted: December 25, 2024I always leave my scooter unlocked and nothing happens. Girls can hung out safely at night. Chiang Rai is pretty safe, especially around Mae Fah Luang. Iāve been living here for a year and have never lost anything.
Posted: December 24, 2024It is safe and beautiful here, as a woman you can travel and feel safe. People are friendly. I did not had one thing, which made me feel unsafe, you can chill at the beach, there is not a lot of partys, once a week and I attend once it was fine.

love a good khao soi, anywhere you can get it :) I stayed at the Pula hotel, right next to Si Lom station, very conventionally to get here by public transport. The room is spacious, but nothing special. just wander around and soak in all the hustle and bustle bangkok has to offer š
Posted: February 13, 2025Experienced: February, 2025Together with my partner that time, we stayed in Phuket, Thailand. It was difficult to reach the public transport, either we could drive only by taxi or rented scooter. Thailand is a safe country, so all single travellers should feel comfortable going there:) For Ā£80 you can spend your day by buying 5 meals, activity, beverages and anything in the shop. Definitely recommend travelling to Thailand.
