For me personally, as a local here I need to admit that Thailand is not the safest place, nor the most convenient place. However, due to Thai people habits weāre always helping each other and also help the tourists, so I would say that in Bagkok, Thailand is moderately safe.

I think it safe and have a lot of culture. I think everyone must been here once in a lifetime. Have lots of foods esp street food. They are delicious and cheap. You can use bts (skytrain) to travel around the city.
Posted: May 7, 2025It's pretty safe place, but u should be careful anyway. Maybe I have an anxiety, but I can't tell it's 100% safe. AND someone stole my friends headphones(he left it in cafe), but police did nothing ofcourse

I used to walk at night and felt very safe. There is a super low crime level and tourist police always check in so the whole community is very good there especially for foreigners as there arenāt many you wonāt be a target.
Posted: April 13, 2025I was really afraid going to Thailand as a solo female traveler but it was a really safe place to be. In Chiang Mai I felt always safe and people are kind, they didnāt want to ask for more money. Even in the night when I walked several times, I didnāt have any problems. Especially in the Old town.
Posted: March 22, 2025I feel like koh lanta is quite safe. I donāt feel like thereās a high risk of getting mugged here and for now everyone seems very respectful and kind. Im staying in the southern part and I feel kinda safe

Quite safe for females and solo travellers, literally i live and work here so in general the locals are amiable and help whenever you needed. I like to stroll alone at night sometime and itās considered as a one of the capital city that is comfortable and secure.
Posted: February 18, 2025You can travel alone because Thai people are very kind and polite. But you must maintain basic safety, such as not asking for directions from strangers, but only asking for directions from officials.
Posted: January 18, 2025Pretty safe for traveller who travel alone. You can use public transport safely and easyliy. Street food and all the restaurants are safe. Hotels and hostels are also safe for everyone. Just be careful when walking on the street some street water drains are broken

Comparing Chiang Mai to many cities Iāve been in Russia, itās the safest place for me: I know that no one want to cause me any harm, even when Iām walking alone at night. Im not even locking my apartmentās door, cause I donāt feel like I need to. I wouldnāt do that in Russia ever. No matter what clothes Imm wearing, Iām not getting any extra attention, aggressive or violent, only things I hear ā itās cheerful compliments, thatās it.

My Solo Trip to Thailand (April 22 - May 6, 2025) I felt safe as a solo female traveler. Locals were welcoming, and using Grab made commuting easy. I recommend visiting Phi Phi Island, exploring night markets, and taking long-tail boat rides. Street food like Pad Thai and coconut ice cream were delicious and affordable. My budget was around 4000 AED but I went over board with shopping and I stayed in mid-range places in Pattaya, Bangkok, railay , Phi Phi, and Phuket. Moving around was easy with domestic flights, ferries, and local transport. Thailand is a great destination for solo travelers seeking a mix of adventure and relaxation!

This was my first solo trip, and it got a special part of my heart. Thailand is a really nice country to travel alone. It is super easy to make friends. I was volunteering there for 2 weeks, and at the weekends I went to Bangkok and Phi Phi Islands. It was definitely the best experience of my life and I really recommend it.
