It’s literally safe My work schedule typically runs from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., and after work, I enjoy meeting up with friends for dinner and coffee, often staying out until around 2 a.m. on Wednesday nights. I feel completely safe doing so, as the community is incredibly welcoming, and the local transportation options, including Uber, are reliable and secure
Posted: February 1, 2025Riyadh is very very great for tourists everyone here is very friendly and educated! if you decide to come you’d see how it’s very true. i’ve never gotten harassed but i have friends who’d only gotten catcalled and it was in the creepy parts of the city
Posted: January 19, 2025The safest place in the world - Minimal crimes - All people are friendly - Women and men can walk freely late at night without fear of being robbed, killed, or facing any issues - Even young children are safe being alone - It's safe even if you forget or leave your belongings out in public areas

Riyadh is relatively safe but as a woman you have to be careful of the places and events you go to, try to go to family friendly places so you can avoid some of the harassment, not a lot to do here other than shopping and going to seasonal events and trendy cafes
Posted: December 23, 2024Very safe peoples are welcoming It's OK to walk alone after midnight it safe. There is no harassment people are friendly and willing to help you can trust anyone here they will offer you a lot of services and they will advise you
Posted: December 7, 2024I live all of my life in Riyadh. I born and raised in this beautiful city , its safe place with a-lot of activities and things to do. Yes its traffic and busy city, but i assure you, once you came you will have much fun!
Posted: September 2, 2024Riyadh is extremely safe. As a local, my only concern is verbal harassment, which is mostly from locals targeted towards local. This also primarily occurs only in certain areas that some young locals deem as dating hotspots. However, risk of physical harassment is very low. Even lower are things like assault, rape, mugging, kidnapping, murder. Saudi Arabia is a considerably safe country to be in. I would only advise foreign female travelers to avoid going out alone at night and avoid dodgy areas only as a precaution.
Posted: June 19, 2024The city is very safe People are so nice helpful and welcoming You can leave your phone computer or even your wallet on a table anywhere to go to the bathroom or anywhere and come back and find all your stuff as you left them
Posted: March 29, 2024This country is very safe especially for foreigners they are very welcome here by locales especially for women there is no danger of sexual assault But you have to adhere to local clothing traditions so you won’t attract the attention of creeps
Posted: March 29, 2024Saudi Arabia specially major cities are pretty safe for female solo travelers, crime rate is pretty low. However catcalling in pretty common specially in male dominated areas such as malls, concerts etc.. Downtown of riyadh is pretty safe to walk in alone, you might get a little bit of unwanted stares, dressing modest is highly recommend (not necessarily abaya and hijab, a long dress or baggy pants would be more than enough) English is pretty common so you will not find any difficulty communicating with locals

My first solo trip was to Saudi Arabia for Umrah. I’ve traveled quite a bit, but never alone before. Saudi is changing drastically, and even though I stayed for just a few days, I managed to visit many historical places. Walking around in the evening felt just as safe as Dubai. The best part? The locals. Everywhere I went—from taxi drivers to shopkeepers—Saudis were working, and they were incredibly respectful and proud of their country. I’ll probably go solo there again!
Posted: March 4, 2025I did a 4 day stopover in Jeddah and I had a blast. The old town was gorgeous. People were mostly active at night and it was just such a different experience. Very few tourists and I felt safe as a solo female traveler.
