As a city girl, Dumaguete did not feel like a big busy city at all! - There are no taxis but everything is close enough by trike which you can access through Grab app. - As the “city of gentle people” I felt safe from the airport to my hostel thanks to the airport officials and hostel staff. - I wasn’t harassed even by myself! And I travelled at night. The biggest concern was the lights and electricity. It is not the most consistent so be vigilant about brownouts. - Attractions are quite accessible with motorcycles and a lot of drivers will not even rip you off even when I was traveling with foreigners. - A very good chill transit city! Would recommend Mad Monkeys Hostel if you want to socialize.
