Vilnius is a very safe city. I have lived here for 4 years and have not been attacked, robbed or harassed. It is safe to walk at night, and go out. Just avoid the train station and the general area around it.
Posted: May 19, 2025There are some parts of the city that you can avoid, I dont think its unsafe is more uncomfortable for women. But mainly because of men from other countries. But in general is very calm chill place to be, public transport is amazing.
Posted: May 7, 2025It’s the safest city I’ve ever lived in! It’s quiet, peaceful, and I’ve walked home in the dark many times alone without any fear - even at 2am! I’ve only heard through a friend of one occurrence of harassment, which took place on a bus - a drunk man was harassing a woman, and immediately other people on the bus stepped in to protect that women and get that man off the bus.

Generally Vilnius is very safe, there are some parts of the city that are a bit more dangerous but usually there is no reason to visit those parts. City center and everything around feels like the safest place out of all I have been to
Posted: April 24, 2025I would say Vilnius is pretty safe comparing to other cities I’ve been to. In day light it is completely safe to wake up by yourself as a woman. Other people especially men are a bit shy, and rarely give you any weird comments. However in the dark there are some places, around bus station especially, where you will feel a bit unsafe.

I found Vilnius really safe, people really mind their own business and men are respectful. I even went on my own for food and a drink to a local pub, there was a group of men seated at the same table and they let me be. I loved the history of Vilnius, visiting the museums, going to the Opera, the prison, a fascinating place!
