I found Vilnius really safe, people really mind their own business and men are respectful. I even went on my own for food and a drink to a local pub, there was a group of men seated at the same table and they let me be. I loved the history of Vilnius, visiting the museums, going to the Opera, the prison, a fascinating place!
Posted: March 27, 2025Vilnius is extremely safe, quiet city. Transportation is very comfortable and it is easy to get from one point to another. In 2 days, it is possible to complete the city tour. First day: the Church of St. Peter and Paul, Monument of Three Crosses, Gediminas Castle Tower and the second day Old Town and the churches, streets, squares in Old Town can be explored. Pilies Street, the Orthodox Church of Holy Spirit are must-see locations.
Posted: September 2, 2024Experienced: July, 2024I traveled to Vilnius with a group of friends and managed to stay there for 6 days. From my experience, I can tell that we overall felt safe during our trip, and were very excited about tourist sightseeings. Vilnius is a vibrant city with interesting spots, restaurants, history, people, and culture.

It is a very safe city even during the night (midnight to 5 am). I never felt weird or unsafe walking home late at night even in unlit areas (which Ive done quite a few times). The only area that might be sketchy during the night is bus/train station area, so you might just want to be a little bit more alert but even then I walked there at almost midnight and nothing ever happened.
Posted: March 24, 2026It’s pretty safe all around, except the station area. People are friendly and polite. Even though we don’t smile that much. Don’t be too loud, don’t be messy and say “ačiū” often enough and you will be alright.
Posted: March 17, 2026It’s is really safe and crimes almost never happens, Lithuania at all is one of the safest countries! There is few places you need to hold on to your bag in a night time, but that is all I promise! :)))
Posted: March 7, 2026Based on reports from women living in Vilnius, we created a safety map highlighting areas where they feel unsafe during the day or at night.

I travel lightly, following intuition and beauty — architecture, quiet streets, a peaceful café. And nature in between the inhabited places. I’m fascinated by everyday local habits; they tell the real story of a place. Safety matters to me, as does the freedom to move simply and comfortably. Here, I’m open to brief, easygoing connections and practical exchanges. And that’s exactly what I offer in return.

People say, that I'm an active person. Like nature, walking, visiting towns... Get up quite early and also go to bed before midnight. No night life. Don't smoke and don't like other people smoking.

I’m a 28 yo Lithuanian living in Vilnius. Since I can work remotely part of the time, traveling has become my way of life. When I was younger, I used Couchsurfing and have only the best memories from my trips. I love meeting new people, hearing their stories, and learning about their cultures. Now, I feel like I could give something back to the community, so I’d be happy to host girls in Vilnius when I’m in the city. I enjoy sharing stories over a cup of coffee or just talking about life with a glass of wine. Although I’m a full-time Data Analyst, my hobby is dog sitting. Most of the time, I have four paws running around my apartment. So, if you're allergic to dogs or not comfy sleeping in the same room with one, I wouldn’t be able to host you.

Hey there, I’m Kamile, freelance teacher/educator/artist. I do a bunch of random stuff - I educate children about music and theatre, organize a summer camp in the countryside with farm animals, study musical composition with digital technologies, do some freelance acting/dubbing. I’m not a hardcore traveler, but try to squeeze in some solo adventures here and there!
