Vilnius is an extremely safe city. Maybe because it's quite small and everybody knows each other in one way or another, so making immoral stuff would be quite humiliating, cause it wouldn't go unnoticed.

Overall Vilnius is safe, i have heard some cases of minor attacks on foreigners but its not very common and stuff like that happens everywhere. So just to be safe, i wouldnt advise anyone to go outside after midnight, also alcoholism is a problem in Lithuania (its eastern european disease haha) so just be careful and aware of your surroundings if you go to a bar. I did witness a bar fight once but again, that happens everywhere😂🤌 I've been harassed and scared to death in countries like Finland and Germany, so as a woman, i think we should be extremely careful everywhere we go. Based on my previous experiences in both western and eastern european countries,I would rate Vilnius as a safe city🇱🇹💖
Posted: January 5, 2025Vilnius feels very safe for a female traveler. The city center is well-lit, and people are around even late at night. Public transport is reliable, and I’ve felt comfortable exploring. Of course, basic precautions are always a good idea.
Posted: January 5, 2025Even though the people might not seem friendly at first, they usually have no bad intentions towards you. The most uncomfortableness I’ve felt was, when a drunk man tried talking to me but the amazing thing is that other people were not ignorant about this situation.
Posted: January 3, 2025Vilnius is really safe place, there is not much crime around. Only some places are a little bit more unsafe, but not too much and only at dark time. City center and most of the surroundings are very safe :)
Posted: January 2, 2025Vilnius is totally safe for natives and for tourists. I never feel scared of walking at night neither in the city center, neither in my neighbourhood. Also, people are very friendly and can help you in any situation.

There are some scary parts of Vilnius as in every city like the train station which is basically a place with a lot of homeless people but overall the city is pretty much safe itself and we got a lot of cool places to visit!!

The city center in the evening or at night is safe, I would say, it is lit up, a lot of people walking. If you are walking in places outside city center at night, it might be a bit more dangerous, but assault happens rarely, it's more drunk guys trying to talk to you. In day time, the whole Vilnius is safe in my opinion
Posted: December 25, 2024It's pretty safe, especially if you're not alone but ofcourse you can always meet people that seem a bit weird or dangerous, so it would be recomended to stay aware but other than that i would say that it's really safe and u can always find people that would help you out

Vilnius is extremely safe, quiet city. Transportation is very comfortable and it is easy to get from one point to another. In 2 days, it is possible to complete the city tour. First day: the Church of St. Peter and Paul, Monument of Three Crosses, Gediminas Castle Tower and the second day Old Town and the churches, streets, squares in Old Town can be explored. Pilies Street, the Orthodox Church of Holy Spirit are must-see locations.
Posted: September 2, 2024Experienced: July, 2024I traveled to Vilnius with a group of friends and managed to stay there for 6 days. From my experience, I can tell that we overall felt safe during our trip, and were very excited about tourist sightseeings. Vilnius is a vibrant city with interesting spots, restaurants, history, people, and culture.

Hi, I’m Egle and travelling always has given me much joy but everything’s so expensive nowadays so if there’s a chance to not spend (much) money on accommodation and meet new people in places I want to travel to I want to use this opportunity and of course I would give the same in return!!!

I am Italian and I live in Vilnius, Lithuania. It is my home and one of the greenest capitals in Europe. I like travelling and seeing new countries through the eyes of locals. I am fluent in English and Italian, and I’m studying Arabic!
