I live in a calm and peaceful block. Even though there's a forest nearby, I don't feel scared walking around in the dark. In the center, it's also peaceful. I felt safe even after visiting a couple of bars in the center at night.

Vilnius is a lovely city with wonderful people who are ready to help you in any case! I’ve never felt unsafe here, even in the dark. Of course, there are some homeless and drinkers, but they don’t seem to be dangerous or be harassing anyone if you don’t touch or provoke them.

From my experience Vilnius is safe! I had late night walks and I did not receive any cat-calling or harassment. I mean like in any cities there is dangerous areas, but overall it's good in Vilnius. The public transport is also safe, just be respectful to elderly people ;)

Vilnius is safe place to visit for all people, there is no crime that much. You can walk on the night not worrying for anything. But you need to be a little bit careful when you are going to a train station area there is more people who are on drugs so maybe u should stay more in the other areas.

Vilnius is a beautiful safe place. I live in the city center and never feel any danger being alone outside at night, sometimes I am just going home from gym at 23:00. The only danger is probably on the weekends when people get drunk and might start talking to you , but that’s very rare.
Posted: February 13, 2025Vilnius is one of the safest towns of Europe and one of the calmest places that I have ever lived. Crime rates are really low, when walking late at night I feel safe and comfortable and I don’t have to worry all the time time about my bag and even I’ve seen people are so chill about leaving their stuff and coming back because no one will take them. There are video cameras almost everywhere and Vilnius is very modern and well equipped with technology. People are friendly and helpful and respectful, they are especially helpful to foreigners and travelers. Overall, Lithuania is known for being safe. Also The majority population of Vilnius also is female.
Posted: February 10, 2025I would say its quite safe, even at night. There are some specific places that i wouldn’t lets say go - that is near the clubs at night, or bars alone as some people wont be as friendly, and if you’re rude it could possible turn into a find - this goes more for men, as i haven’t heard stories of woman getting into fights. Feel free to text for any advise!
Posted: January 26, 2025Vilnius is an extremely safe city. Maybe because it's quite small and everybody knows each other in one way or another, so making immoral stuff would be quite humiliating, cause it wouldn't go unnoticed.

Overall Vilnius is safe, i have heard some cases of minor attacks on foreigners but its not very common and stuff like that happens everywhere. So just to be safe, i wouldnt advise anyone to go outside after midnight, also alcoholism is a problem in Lithuania (its eastern european disease haha) so just be careful and aware of your surroundings if you go to a bar. I did witness a bar fight once but again, that happens everywhere😂🤌 I've been harassed and scared to death in countries like Finland and Germany, so as a woman, i think we should be extremely careful everywhere we go. Based on my previous experiences in both western and eastern european countries,I would rate Vilnius as a safe city🇱🇹💖
Posted: January 5, 2025Vilnius feels very safe for a female traveler. The city center is well-lit, and people are around even late at night. Public transport is reliable, and I’ve felt comfortable exploring. Of course, basic precautions are always a good idea.

I found Vilnius really safe, people really mind their own business and men are respectful. I even went on my own for food and a drink to a local pub, there was a group of men seated at the same table and they let me be. I loved the history of Vilnius, visiting the museums, going to the Opera, the prison, a fascinating place!
Posted: March 27, 2025Vilnius is extremely safe, quiet city. Transportation is very comfortable and it is easy to get from one point to another. In 2 days, it is possible to complete the city tour. First day: the Church of St. Peter and Paul, Monument of Three Crosses, Gediminas Castle Tower and the second day Old Town and the churches, streets, squares in Old Town can be explored. Pilies Street, the Orthodox Church of Holy Spirit are must-see locations.
