I would say it’s one of the safest city’s I have been to and living here for 4 years haven’t experienced anything unsafe or something I should worry about. As a girl I would say I feel confident and safe in my city

I would say it is pretty safe, especially old town Riga, but train station Origo is kinda dangerous. Other cities are also safe, nobody really cares about you, everyone just doing their own things, but in other cities people would be surprised to see tourists and they probably wouldn’t know English.

Rezekne feels like a very safe city. It's the best thing about small cities 😄 Sometimes we even forget to lock our house door. I have never yet witnessed any crime happening in this city ( or in all of Latvia, really).

I've stayed here for 3 months. This city is pretty quiet and located in 100 km far from Riga - the capital city. The most of population is older people. Maybe that's why here is so quiet like this. So, that's all.
Posted: March 3, 2025Riga Old Town is a charming place to live, especially the “Embassy District”. Overall, I have very little complaints about living here. There’s the occasional homeless person but I don’t see them nearly as much as when living in London
Posted: February 27, 2025It's pretty safe in Imanta, yet other suburbs like Ķengarangs may be scary at night or during rush hours. Zolitūde as a suburb is too quiet, so I wouldn't recommend it for tourism. If you are visiting Riga, the best place to stay is the city centre or Old town. The other option would be somewhere near that area.
Posted: February 26, 2025As in every country there is criminals, but it’s much more peaceful then in bigger countries. At night streets are calm and empty, only old town is crowded on weekends mostly. Not bad place to live in
Posted: February 15, 2025Riga is super safe there is a lot of CCTV in comparison to Germany! There are a lot of streetlights and people are super friendly in most areas and super honest. I lost important things a few times and always got them back.
Posted: February 7, 2025Its alright. I dont use public transport in my hometown. From city to city its alright. Have nothing to worry about. In Rīga taking a public transport sometimes you can get the creeps because of the indians looking at you like a piece of meat.

It's kinda safe as an international student here. But i would say i only experience crowded and central area! So be cautious anyway! Always stay safe ladies, especially when you're alone no matter which city which country, keep eyes open ❤❤❤❤❤

While in Riga I stayed in the Blue Bird Hostel in the old city. The city felt pretty safe to walk around, although I didn't stay out very late. I really recommend the Art Nouveau neighborhood. I'm not aware of any museums since I had no time to visit one but simply walking around is very pleasant

I went Latvia for Erasmus and it was the best thing I’ve ever experienced. I’ve never felt safe and peaceful anywhere. You can enjoy the clubs and even after 4 am you can walk to your place ALONE. I’ve done that many times and it’s really safe. The people are really friendly and open to new experiences. I was never bored. The only thing is in the winter it’s always snowing so if you don’t like I wouldn’t recommend but other than that everything was good
