Is Tel Aviv-Yafo Safe for Women? Crime Rate in Tel Aviv-Yafo

Tel Aviv can be scary, especially after dark and mostly in the south of Tel aviv. In the north it's fairly safe and there is nothing to worry about. But in the south things can get a bit scarier. I haven't experienced anything too worrying other than catcalls and the occasional follower, so carry some pepper spray and explore Tel Aviv!

Like every other big city anything is possible, but Tel Aviv is a homy Place with amazing people, lots of attractions but also with a lot of neglected places with stranger faces. As much as there are people that seem strange and you might fear, there are even more big hearted people who might help, reach out and always be there for you. Israel is a place of survival all together, so we locals are more than aware of our environment all the time and anywhere.

Tel Aviv is very safe as a women overall. You can walk freely and in any hour- no one would do you anything or try to steal nothing. If something happens- Israeli people will help you 100%. We are there for each other and help each other all the time. The only concern here is the terror attacks and the alarms from the rockets unfortunately 🙏🏻

i’d say pretty safe. i’ve lived here for 19 years, and use public transport every day, and almost never experienced any problems. do note: bike theft is very common! also, on the beach, make sure someone is watching your stuff- a few of my friends had their phones stolen when they went in the water.

For solo female travelers Tel Aviv is very safe in most neighborhoods. It safe to take public transportation or walk around alone at day and night. Certain neighborhoods in south Tel Aviv can be unpleasant so try not to go alone. But all in all it is a safe city for women. It is important to be alert and aware of your environment in very crowded areas, because due to current climate there is a risk of rocket attacks in the city.

Tel Aviv is very safe. Everyone here is super nice and helpful. No worry about going out in the dark. Sexual assaults, robbing or attacks while walking in the street never happen here. Women can feel very safe here.

Tel Aviv is a great beach city with lots of great restaurants, museums and clubs! The public transportation is a little bit unreliable, but it definitely works,and is easy to navigate. People are friendly and helpful. I highly recommend visiting!

Overall tel Aviv is a really nice and safe city, lots of people walking around everywhere and al the time. The south parts of the city can be sometimes unpleasant, specially after dark, but where there’s a lot of people, bars and restaurants it won’t be a problem.

The city hall made safety one if its highest priorities and invests a lot of money on it. The streets are equipped with street lights and there is zero tolerance to harassment in the city’s public areas such as bars, restaurants and parks. There is high awareness to the subject and a lot is being done to prevent it.

Most areas are completely safe. Some specific areas in south Tel Aviv and Jaffa do get a little more sketchy at night. Overall, I wouldn't worry about getting mugged or attacked. Worst cases I ran into were catcalling / homeless people approaching to ask stuff.

Group travel

I was lucky visiting israel before current events (no political comment here.) Probably one of the nicest places i've been. Not like a typical middle eastern city. Some travellers actually say its middle eastern-california lol. I stayed at jungle jaffa hostel and i wont stay anywhere else if i go again. It was one of the main things that made tel aviv such an experience. Old jaffa is a must see and beach is a real gem. They are at the same place already. Everywhere is walking distance. I didnt use uber even once Because airport is accessible too. Only fault about Tel aviv was it wasnt budget friendly... I ate my meals at hostel (which was included during summer) but 50cl beer was around 10 shekel (2.5€), a cocktail at a cheap bar 20 shekel, breakfast with omelette 50 shekel. Other than that Tel aviv is a living city, techno parties last whole weekend, beach is not crowded but alive, population is young and traveler friendly

Group travel

I felt safe, because I visited my friend who had already lives there for several years. But I’m not sure the feeling would be the same if you visit it by yourself. I was there 5 days and my program was prepared before. I visited Jerusalem in the morning, the sea in afternoon and techno at night. The trip had really tight schedule. It was nice, because we had a car, without it using the local transport it would be impossible. You always can find where to go, because of long history land, full of stories and new impacts. I spent not much money, because I was visiting a friend, that’s why I didn’t need it. But prices are extremely high.
