The only threat could possibly come from members of terrorist organisations from Lebanon or Syria; locals are all super nice and friendly. There are zero problems walking the city at night, especially in the center. It's the most multicultural city in Israel, that has Ashkenazi, Sefardi and Mizrahi Jews living side by side with Muslim and Christian Arabs, Russians, European and Ethiopians, almost everyone is super nice to visitors and each other. The rockets also usually don't reach here so that's also a plus.

Haifa is a very safe city. You can travel alone at night, the places to hang out is central and close to public transportation and students live there. The industrial zone is out of town. You can safely walk home at night. There is only one area preferd to avoid at night, and still it safe there. Just not pleasant. Man are not harrasing woman. There is not kidnapping. You don't have refugees inside the city.
Posted: January 4, 2025Depends on the district obviously, but even the areas that are more prone to crime are usually about internal beef of people living there and not attacking unrelated persons. All the upper areas seem completely safe to me, never been catcalled or felt unsafe walking alone even in the middle of the night.

I think that Haifa is relatively a safe place, maybe some area require more alertness, but I've walked around a lot in the dark myself. Some areas in downtown are perhaps a bit more tricky and I would avoid...

I’m planning my travel by myself so I would like to find some new friends!

23 years old, speak English, Russian, Hebrew and a bit of Italian, love books, TV shows, board games and social dancing ❤️ I had a great time being hosted by wonderful women during my travels, so although I do not have much to offer, I would love to give back. Feel free to invite me out for a drink or a coffee or just to stroll around, or I will gladly show you my favorite places (like the best gelato in town)
