So for us women it is actually depends on where we are, in the bigger city such as the capital Jakarta you better stay where there are other people (especially other women!) but walking at night is still doable whereas in the outskirts or in the countryside it is better to not do it at all or ride a vehicle (motorcycle or car). Although don‘t worry so much if youre stranded because the people are actually friendly and helpful if youre polite
Posted: May 14, 2025Its overall a pretty safe place depending on where you are, but usually after dark its a bit.. yea.. unless youre at a decently crowded area like senayan or places that are modern in a way. With sexual harrasment usually its only catcalls but i dont usually worry about anything else it feels safe generally
Posted: May 3, 2025It's kinda safe, it's a small city with really good access to full fill your needs, and the people are nice, there are a lot of people to be asked for help if something bad happens, but you still gotta watch your stuff!
Posted: April 26, 2025Quite safe, most of the locals are friendly. Not much people going out at night. The locals even usually leave their keys on their motor cycle, nobody will steal it. However the helmet sometimes get stollen
Posted: April 19, 2025Jakarta is safe in some areas, and you should be careful of your belongings. because it is vulnerable to pickpockets especially in public transports if you’re a woman, don’t ever go out later than 12am
Posted: April 16, 2025Its quite safe for me, im never find something bad at near my house, we're typically greets each other when we go or back from work, so my location kinda safe and peace. Also, after dark we still can go outside, but comeback before 9 pm, because theres some neighbors that to much talking, but everything fine ❤️❤️

Jakarta is overall very safe place especially for woman. The public transports system has crime and sexual harassment prevention system that makes service user well aware and able to participate and help each other if there is a case of crime or harassment. But in several place, especially in very rural area, there's still a scam and harassment, especially a verbal ones, that sometimes happened.

The city where I live is quite safe and crime rarely occurs and in several places in my area there are lots of CCTVs to see the surrounding conditions but you have to be careful too, even though I have experienced crime especially when I have entered a quiet area and it is late at night.
Posted: April 9, 2025For a girls, isnt that bad actually! People in here is helpful but yeah... Men always be like rude and mean some times, just be safe!! But actually i never get harrassed in here.. but u still need to worried okay??

I think it depends on which area you’re going to, if you go to crowded places it is safer (you won’t get assaulted or kidnapped) but also you have more risks of getting robbed. In general never walk alone at night, always have someone with you just in case. If you have lots of tattoos, it’s also better to show them all as it can intimidate the men.

It was interesting. There are some places where you would feel a little bit insecure ,but people there are very kind. Our resort was fine.we were at Nusa Dua beach hotel and spa. We had problems with our rooms cards almost daily. My favorite restaurant out of the resort was Bebek Tebasari Resto. I would recommend to visit the monkey forest as well .
Posted: May 14, 2025If you want to rest, relax and get away from the hustle and bustle and go to the most beautiful place in Bali, definitely put Ceningan Island on your bucket list. I felt super safe here. I walked around the island and felt safe, even after dark. If you stay on Ceningan island, there's not much to do. But that's why I liked it. There are beautiful viewpoints around the island and lovely restaurants. Make sure to stop at Mr Ceningans restaurant for the best Australian steak and beef burgers. There are several tours that you can book for snorkeling and swimming with turtles and mantarays. On the neighboring island Lebongan (a short scooter ride away across the yellow bridge), there was more of a night life vibe with parties and karaoke. I stayed at Aurora Beach, and it was beautiful. They have an infinity pool looking out on the ocean. Aquamarine water and the most gorgeous sunsets ever. Cocktails were 50 000 IDR, and the excellent steak was 200 000 IDR. It's not the cheapest in Bali, but well worth it. It is easy to get around the island on a scooter. There are many to rent. I wasn't brave enough to drive a scooter myself and walked everywhere. The guys at Aurora Beach also gave me a lift whenever I needed to get to Lebongan island. I stayed in one place for three weeks. It was bliss.
