During the day is safe, here are some small streets that could be considered suspicious, but I personally haven’t experienced anything. At the shopping centers and malls you should be careful, especially when there’s big crowds-sometimes there’s thieves but rarely. At night is a bit scary because here’s often to see drunk people or people under the influence of drugs ,especially when the weather is warm.Sometimes here’s a big groups of boys or young people but often they’re harmless.
Posted: January 16, 2025Varna is a touristy city and very safe. The Sea garden is pretty safe, however, it cqn become pretty crowded in the summer and can prone to petty theft in peak season. Public transport is considered safe, however, be aware of unofficial taxis as it can lead to overcharging.
Posted: January 10, 2025It’s a great place, safe with amazing people but still would prefer to have someone who I know next to me. You never know what could eventually happen to you, even if you are at the mall. Love you all!
Posted: January 8, 2025Varna is a city that everyone thinks about themselves and nobody care about the others and because of that is pretty safe city. Its very usual to see people after dark, women as well so there is pretty much nothing to worry about. Maybe the only scam u can get is from taxis about the price.
Posted: December 23, 2024Generally safe. I think it's a good place for solo traveling, especially in July and August. I live in the central area and often walk alone, I feel okay doing it. There are some sketchy-looking entities occasionally, but they are harmless.
Posted: August 26, 2024Main streets are fairly safe but I don't recommend back alleys especially after dark. At summer city is much more crowded which is more safe and since it is a seaside city would recommend going there in summer
Posted: March 17, 2024Overall, I felt safe but I knew I had to be vety cautious walking around. The people were nice however if you dont know Bulgarian or Russian they tend to be very rude. My bag got stolen with everything in it, there are professional thiefs there. Everything was cheap compared to anywhere in Europe, the food amazing, the alcohol somewhat good, the pubs and bars were amazing tho. There is public transportation and the beaches were very nice.
