City is very safe at all, of course there are certain districts that are not considered safe but is very unlike that you will find yourself there as tourists or even as a local not living especially in this districts.

It is the second-largest city and one of the world's oldest inhabited cities, dating back over 8,000 years. Plovdiv is particularly famous for its ancient Roman theater, which is still in use today for concerts and performances, and the Old Town, an architectural and historic reserve noted for its well-preserved Renaissance houses. The city's unique blend of ancient traditions and modern urban setting, with a plethora of museums, archaeological sites, bustling cafes, and art galleries, makes Plovdiv a remarkable destination that captivates every visitor's attention.

Bulgaria, a captivating country nestled in southeastern Europe, is a fascinating blend of culture and natural beauty that remains relatively untapped by mainstream tourism. Known for its diverse landscape that encompasses the sun-kissed Black Sea coastline, striking mountains, vast plains, and charming villages, Bulgaria boasts a plethora of landmarks like the ancient architectural wonders in Nesebar, UNESCO-listed Rila Monastery nestled amidst pine-clad mountains, and the historic capital city of Sofia with its onion-domed churches and gold-domed Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. With a rich history stretching from ancient Thracian tombs to remnants of the Byzantine and Ottoman empires, decadent wineries, vibrant folklore, traditional crafts, and a burgeoning art scene, Bulgaria is an enchanting blend of Eastern and Western influences waiting to be explored.

When traveling to Bulgaria, it is advisable to exercise normal safety precautions. This includes staying alert about your surroundings, keeping your personal belongings secure, and following the local laws and customs. This advice is consistent with recommendations from the United States, Canadian, and Australian governments.

Plovdiv was my favorite city to visit in Bulgaria. It was easy to walk around, and the old part of the city was very beautiful with a bunch of cute bars and cafes.  I suggest going on a free walking tour where you get to know the area. I stayed at a hostel and made a wonderful travel companion. The taxi drives very quite rude and had a very bad experience with them. I was treated very differently when I was taking a taxi with a man companion compared when trying to take one alone.

I visited Plovdiv twice as a day trip from Sofia. The city has a colorful old town, nice Roman amphitheater ruins, and an alternative district full of graffiti and cafes. I always travelled there by bus. It's an amazing place with wonderful people.
