Always stay in busy places and avoid going out after dark, Recife is beautiful, but it can also be dangerous. The cuisine, the landscapes, and for those who like old buildings, Recife and Olinda can be paradise. But be careful.

I lived at Recife when I was in college. Great memories of this town. There are beautiful beaches and a great nightlife with such diverse culture. People are very friendly and welcoming. I visited a couple of museums and galleries and could see a lot of local musicians. They do parties all over the street and usually you don’t have to pay for tickets.
