I traveled alone and I think it's very safe. But of course, we always have to stay wake up. You have to stay in the center, where are the tourists. I didn't like to be some streets far because there are no people
Posted: March 9, 2025Ushuaia is a small city, everyone knows each other so it is very safe, of course you have to be careful with your things, but stealing it's not common. You have to be careful in Winter, because it gets dark earlier.

It is really easy to visit a lot of places with Uber, buses or taxis. There are a lot of beautiful places to do trekking. I visited in summer, and it was almost 23 degrees. It is unusual there, so it was hot. The excursions are beautiful too and its National Park is really big, you'll need more than 1 day to visit it.

I felt very safe in Ushuaia, I found even the car drivers were pretty nice. Uber is available which is always a good thing for me as it makes getting from and to the airport. I stayed at an Airbnb about 25 min away from the center. It costs about 50€ inlc breakfast. Like all of Patagonia Ushuaia is not super budget friendly but there are a lot of things to do. I did a tour with a small boat across the beagle channel (50€ with El Che Turismo Alternativo), a self organised trip to the national park Tierra del Fuego (~25€) and a canoeing, hiking + penguin watching trip for (240€ with channel fun), I enjoyed all of it a lot. For food and atmosphere I highly recommend Ramos Generales El Almacén.
