I felt completely safe and at home while exploring la CASBAH. I highly recommend trying the haik, a traditional Algerian garment, and kheit errouh jewelry to fully embrace the cultural experience. The view from Stah El-Bahdja is breathtaking, and you can also enjoy delicious traditional food at reasonable prices. There are many historical houses worth visiting, each with its own unique story. I visited "Dar Lallahoum "with my sister and friend, took some pictures, and shared them. I strongly recommend visiting in a group you won’t regret it🥰

Day walks are absolutely safe the more humble you dress up the safer it gets. avoiding alone promenades the evening/night highly recommended. It is common that people stare at you in the street when it is very obvious you are a foreigner but it is just curiosity nothing bad behind.
Posted: December 1, 2025If you don't have a local with you (preferably male) pls don't come! as a local and a hijabi I can assure you that it's rlly uncomfortable, cat calling is everywhere and if you use public transportation there's a 70% chance you'll get groped. I'd recommend going for an expensive hotel and city like Hydra or sidi yahia, it's safer and women there are more free. Again, a male guide (+companion) is extremely recommended, don't even think about it esp if you look western? solo travelling is on a hard level.
Posted: November 23, 2025Bejaia is a small town and people are very friendly and welcoming. Tourist comme often in the summer and other times of the year. That make it a city open to new visitors. It’s is all so a town visited by the others locals for its safety and security.

Solo travelling when you are the woman is a bit trickier but still possible, dressing modestly is a must here. As I am travelling with a person who speaks Arabic travelling is so much easier. Most people speak French, English just touristy areas.

Safe in many ways, the crime is so low, the law protect very well all nights, the people harmless and friendly and they protect , you can go out day and night without worrying, you will not find strangers.

Hi there! I’m a proud Algerian, born and raised in Algeria, but for the past ten years, I’ve called Istanbul my second home. What started as a journey to complete my graduate studies turned into a beautiful chapter of growth, work, and self-discovery. After years of waiting for the “right time” to travel the world, I finally realized that perfect conditions never come — we create them ourselves. So here I am, chasing my lifelong dream of exploring new places, cultures, and connections. 🌍✨ I’m passionate about nature and animals (especially dogs 🐾), and I truly enjoy deep conversations — the kind that go beyond small talk and touch on life, growth, and shared experiences. I believe every person we meet has a story worth hearing, and every journey teaches us something new. Let’s share adventures, insights, and maybe even a few laughs along the way!
