About me

I'm eighteen years old, who is adventure-seeker. My young age is the reason why I recently started to break new grounds in cheap travelling. It is my oyster now, as well as a responsibility. Whole world seems to be compelling, so I need to experience and see as much as possible of it. Now, few words about me: I'm interested in the human body and I am going to be a physiotherapist. I've always trained many sports, which taught me teamwork and compromise. I've been a vegetarian for five years and love cooking; I know many recipes and kitchen "tricks". I love camping, meeting new people and mountains.

Solo travel experience

I stayed 15 minutes away from the Main Square. I felt extremely safe in this city as this was my first solo trip. I would definitely recommend Auschwitz, Salt Mine, Zakopane and Oscar’s Factory. There are all different kinds of restaurants in the main square. You can walk around the town very easy. There are buses, trams, Uber, bolt and taxis all available to travel to different parts.

Family travel experience

I felt so safe and I travelled with my sister. I would recommend the salt mine tour combined with the auchwitz and Birkenau guided tour. I travelled for the Christmas markets in December 2021 but felt like this city had so much more to offer. Cute little quirky streets round the whole old town centre. I would love to go back!

About Me

I am Mia from Germany, I study cultural education and am a theatre maker. I also studied music for a bit however I wouldn’t call myself a musician more an enthusiast. I love love love to dance. I enjoy cooking with others a lot, so maybe that is something to do together. After finishing University I would love to do international theatre projects and maybe move abroad some day, for now I’ve lived in Belgium and Croatia a bit. :) I will be taking my first solo-adventure interrailing through Europe this summer ☀️ I’m very excited and would love to meet some nice people on the way!

Is Krakow worth visiting?

Overall rating

4.8 /5

based on 54 experiences

Group travel experience

I spent a day in Krakow, and it was quite an experience. The highlight was visiting the Wieliczka Salt Mine. The underground tunnels and chambers carved from salt were fascinating, especially the Chapel of St. Kinga with its detailed salt sculptures and chandeliers. After the mine, I walked around Krakow. The city’s architecture is stunning. The Wawel Castle by the Vistula River and the medieval buildings in the Old Town, especially around the Main Market Square and St. Mary’s Basilica, were impressive and beautiful. However, I wasn’t a fan of the local food. It was too heavy and greasy for my taste. The service in restaurants was also disappointing—slow and inattentive.

Solo travel experience

People are usually very early drunk and also most of them are gona shout to you. Always walk with people from hostel or groups to skip that . There are a lot of bar crawling events and a lot of party hostels keep that in mind when you book your accommodation. Most of them are open to be joined so consider of booking a normal hostel in case you are not 100% in to that
