Couple travel experience

Casablanca was the only city in Morocco where I felt uncomfortable and, at times, unsafe. When I was alone on the street for a few moments without my partner, a man showed up and followed me, and only disappeared once my partner came back. In Cafes, I was ignored by the staff, even though I was the one speaking French, thus normally doing the ordering. The mosque is indeed very beautiful, but overall, I wasnt impressed with my time in Casablanca.

Solo travel experience

I went to Casablanca as a solo woman and had several unpleasant experiences. Men were staring at me and following me on the streets, as well as in my hotel. Taxi drivers with incredibly old and dangerous cars were constantly trying to scam me. I feel it could have been a nicer experience if I had gone there with a male colleague or in a group. I've traveled a lot, but I've never had such negative experiences as in Casablanca. In the end, I was simply happy to return home. I certainly do not recommend Morocco for solo female travelers.
