I spent Christmas with a female friend in Marrakech it was very stressful with the vendors they grabbed us and were extremely insistent, we took a “wrong” route to a less touristy area and even little children were screaming at us and following us around. It was very bad. Then we took a trip to the sahara, was better but I had the feeling they were trying to take all the money as possible from us that they could, I mean they would drive through the city to stop at a restaurant where there was absolutely nothing else to choose from with very high prices. It was at the end a nice little trip we did. And I traveled to the beach I cannot remember the name of the city. Nobody was harassing us. I wore bikini’s and hang around until late.

I stayed at the Mamounia and a local riad. Essaouira was great, Chefchaouen (photo ops at every turn), overnight at the desert (but I would go for a longer desert trip next time), Ait Ben Haddou. There wasn’t much to see in Casablanca but had to fly out from there. Wore loose long-sleeved, long skirt, scarf (to enter mosques).

Marrakech was my least favourite place I visited in Morocco, it can be really overwhelming. Fez, Essaoueira and Chefchaouen were way more relaxed in my experience and I didn’t get harassed nearly as much there. It can be a bit of a culture shock, took me a day or two adjust.
