Solo travel experience

Kolkata was definitely the worst place I have been in my life. Accommodation is much more expensive if you want to find something fairly decent, and I had trouble finding good places to eat compared to the rest of India.

Solo travel experience

I went to Kolkata for 3 days and had a great time. The traffic and noise were crazy. The city has many wonderful sights and flavors to experience. Besides regular tourist spots such as the Victoria Memorial, Howrah Bridge, etc, I loved visiting the potter's colony called Kumartuli and the Jorasanko Thakurbari museum. The food in Kolkata was a real pleasure.

Local experience

Mostly safe for women. I used to stay out till 9pm ish regularly and super safe. Post 11pm i haven't been out alone much. The food is very good here, even at streetside shops. Everything here is super cheap. There are lots of culturally important or beautiful places to visit. Which are of an offbeat quality.
