Local experience
Leuven is definitely a place worth visiting, a small university town, 20 minutes by train from Brussels. It's small and easily accessible on foot from the train station. You must see the library (inside and out), one of the most beautiful in Europe, and climbing the tower will offer an amazing view. It is also necessary to see the beguinage and of course the town hall. The world's largest brewing company is located in Leuven (Ab inbev) and of course the Stella Artois beer factory. The surroundings of Leuven are also nice with many castles, lakes, and abbeys. I highly recommend Park Abbey, which you can reach in 45 minutes from the city center.
