Salzburg is super safe to travel as a female solo traveller. I used public transport to go around (I took the 3 day tourist card) and they are really reliable. The food was nice (ate Wiener Schnitzel) but unfortunately I didn't really explore the culinary. I was also registered to the free-walking-tour. Was the best decision because not only someone can "show" you around but also you got interesting information!

Safe place for doing the solo trip and the view is beautiful in summer. I really enjoyed the sight view of the city and it’s a busy city but also kinda chill city. You can go to the mountains and the city just in less than one hour

Salzburg is a very beautiful city! I really enjoyed my trip there with two friends of mine. We've been to a museum which was really interesting. The city center is clean and there are many shopping possibilities.
Posted: September 6, 2023Experienced: January, 2020I took a day trip to Salzburg by train. I went to the old town for a while, walked around a bit, and then took a bus to the Alps for a small walk. I took a cable car up the hill and from there I reached the highest point. The climb was quite hassle-free, and the view was beautiful. I recommend trying the apple strudel from the old town.
