Jordan is generally safe for solo female travellers. The country is known for its hospitality and friendly locals, and the crime rate is low. Women are generally respected and treated with courtesy, and there are plenty of tourist attractions and activities to explore. It is important to be aware of your surroundings and take the usual safety precautions, such as avoiding walking alone at night and keeping your valuables secure.

I spent several days alone in Jordan and a few days sharing a car with other people because public transportation is not very regular. I felt safe but you need to be aware of the scammers in Petra. I was in Petra for 3 days and it was definitely too much. I think 1 intense day would have been enough. I spent one day in Wadi Rum, sleeping under the stars, and that was the most wonderful.
Posted: August 30, 2023I went on an 8-day solo tour to Jordan. It was my first solo trip post covid. Jordan is gorgeous and very safe. I saw Petra, Gerash, Amman, Wadi Rum, Mount Nebo, and the Dead Sea and spent a night in the desert with Bedouin people.
Posted: August 9, 2023I went to Jordan last October for my birthday. So safe. Wadi rum was the most fun, and Petra was amazing. The weather was perfect. Probably the best trip I’ve ever had and I’ve been to many places.
Posted: July 12, 2023Jordan can be a safe destination for solo female travelers, but it's important to take some precautions to ensure your safety. Here are some safety tips for solo female travelers in Jordan:
Jordan is a conservative country, so it is important for female travelers to dress modestly. This means covering your shoulders and knees, and wearing loose-fitting clothing.
Before you travel, make sure to research your destination and the areas you plan to visit. This will help you to be aware of any potential safety risks and plan accordingly.
When choosing accommodation, make sure to stay in safe areas. Avoid staying in isolated areas or areas with a high crime rate.
It is best to avoid walking alone at night, especially in unfamiliar areas. If you must walk alone, make sure to stay in well-lit areas and be aware of your surroundings.
Jordan is a culturally conservative country, so it is important to be aware of the local customs and cultural norms. This will help you to avoid any potential misunderstandings or conflicts.
It is best to avoid accepting rides from strangers, as this can be dangerous. If you need a ride, it is best to use a reputable taxi service.
Make sure to stay connected with family and friends back home. Let them know your travel plans and check in with them regularly.
It is a good idea to carry a copy of your passport with you at all times. This will help you to prove your identity if needed.
Make sure to keep your belongings close to you at all times. Avoid leaving your bags or valuables unattended in public areas.
If something doesn’t feel right, trust your instincts and leave the area. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Approximately how much money did you spend at Petra Jordan for food/drink/souvenirs? I have a tour booked so entrance fees/tip are covered but I'm unsure how much money I should convert to Jordanian dinar as I'll only be in Jordan one day (land crossing from Israel).

Posted: November 24, 2022I’m thinking of visiting Wadi Rum desert in Jordan for 3 days (2 nights) but unfortunately, my budget is very small. Anyone of you has done that kind of tours? Do you have any suggestions maybe (tour guides etc)? I’d appreciate it a lot. I just want to make sure that I will book something legit and safe.
