I had a brief but memorable stop in Lucerne for about 3-4 hours during my trip. I spent most of the time walking around the city, enjoying the beautiful scenery. We had a snack by the river (highly recommend it, though it’s a bit pricey—well, that’s Switzerland for you). I also tried some ice cream, and I still remember how one scoop cost 4 euros! For me, that’s a huge difference, since in Ukraine, 4 euros could buy you 4-6 scoops. However, the scoop was as big as my fist, and it was delicious! We also took a stroll to the famous flower-covered bridge, listened to some musicians, and then headed to another city. Lucerne left a stronger impression on me than Zurich. The people were friendly, even the tourists (unlike in Zurich, where I didn’t feel as comfortable with the younger crowd).
Posted: January 3, 2025I visited Lucerne and it was beautiful, I highly recommend it. I also went up the Pilatus mountain for a half-day trip from Lucerne and it was equally beautiful there (you can go up the mountain by cable car or train).

It is very easy to navigate and I can highly recommend using the public transport system. Overall it is very save! I would be a bit more carfull alone in a dark street at night but other than that I would say it is very save!
Posted: September 25, 2024Pretty safe. As usual be aware of your surroundings. Homeless people usually linger around the train station, but they are harmless, mostly even very polite. When out drinking take all the precaution you would at home
