However, much like any city, there could be instances of petty crimes like pickpocketing in crowded places. It's a good idea to stay in well-traveled areas and avoid deserted streets late at night. Is Bydgoszcz worth visiting?

Is Bydgoszcz safe for women?

Bydgoszcz is a generally safe city for female tourists. Crime rates are super low, with violent crimes being even more rare. Petty crimes like can occur, but they’re uncommon, especially in central areas like the Old Town, Mill Island, and along the Brda River - which is live nearby. :-) Most neighborhoods are safe in comparison with the other European countries I’ve been to (mainly all western side: France, Uk, Germany, Italy etc.) The areas, particularly around train stations or poorly lit streets at night might be moderately less safe tho. Public transportation is reliable, on time most of the time, very cheap and most importantly safe. I suggest to keep an eye on one’s belongings during peak hours. Police presence is visible in the more high-traffic and tourist zones, which helps maintain security on high levels. Roads (there are also many pedestrian zones) are well-maintained, but I’d advise to be cautious when crossing streets. If anything happens it’s best to dial 112 for the emergency unit to come over. To stay safe it is always best to avoid displaying valuables, never drink in a public place which is other than a restaurant or alcohol non restricted place (one can pay a fine, its illegal to drink in public places) … also drink responsibly in bars, and its better to stick to the well-lit areas at night. Overall, Bydgoszcz is a rather secure environment for visitors, and definitely an enjoyable city to explore.

Bydgoszcz is very safe; dangerous situations rarely occur, so I recommend everyone to visit this city. I have lived here since birth, and there is no need to be afraid on the streets. I do recommend avoiding dark alleys.

About Me

Hi! My name’s Elwira, and since last year I’ve been really enjoying my solo trips. I’m very flexible and can easily adapt to any circumstances. I like to talk, but I’m also fine with staying quiet if needed – whatever works! 😊 Apart from being a student of linguistics, I’m also a lawyer. I can communicate fluently in Polish, Russian, and English, and I know a bit of Ukrainian and French as well. This winter, I’m super excited to explore the North! (Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Latvia). I’m also planning to visit the UK, including Edinburgh and the Shetland Islands. Oh, I also love discovering new places and meeting interesting people along the way! ❤️
