Solo Female Travel in Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu, often referred to as "The Lost City of the Incas," is a mystical, ancient city nestled high in the Peruvian Andes. Located in the Cusco Region, it's renowned for being one of the most significant remnants of the Inca civilization. Often blanketed in swirling mists, visiting Machu Picchu is like stepping back in time. As visitors wind their way through this stone city, surrounded by emerald mountains and steep agricultural terraces, they can explore the remnants of temples, palaces, and solar clock or "Intihuatana", gaining a sense of the ingenuity of the Incan engineers who built it in the 15th century. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its sophisticated dry-stone walls, and voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu is not just known for its historical and archaeological significance, but also for its dramatic setting and natural beauty.

Great place to go and meet about the Cuzco ‘s History, the view of Machu Picchu is beautiful, the weather is great friendly people, and warm environment I took different tours everyday, I stayed in the place around a week, there are so many activities to do like driving motorcycles in the mountain, visit great Incas museums, city tours of the capital which is Cuzco. The food is good and the markets are cheaper in the same Cuzco town than other places like Machu Picchu. I felt safe around the streets. The streets are full of foreign people.

Machu Picchu takes your breath away. I got sick there and spent one day in bed. I recommend taking medicine or trying local herbs for altitude sickness.

I have completed the Inca Trail. What made it difficult for me was the altitude. There was one day that amazed me when I reached the camp in the evening. After a rest and dinner, I was ready to continue. I recommend staying in Cuzco for a few days to acclimate to the altitude.
