Safety:Very safe

Eilat is considered fairly safe for solo female travelers. The city is tourist-friendly given its status as a holiday resort town and experiences lower crime rates compared to other cities in the region. However, like in any other destination, it's essential to stay alert and aware of your surroundings, particularly at night or when in less crowded areas. Always take precautions about your personal safety and belongings. It is also good to observe local etiquette and dress codes, out of respect and to avoid unwanted attention.

Transport:Easy

Eilat is quite visitor-friendly with a manageable size. Often, it's possible to get around by foot due to its compactness, especially areas around the beach and main strip. A variety of transportation options are available including bike rentals, taxis, and bus services. English is widely spoken and most signs are in English too, making navigation relatively smooth.

Things to do:Interesting

Eilat is a charming city that offers a blend of relaxing and adventurous activities. You can enjoy the vibrant marine life through snorkeling or scuba diving in the Coral Beach Nature Reserve, or visit the Underwater Observatory Marine Park. Hiking on the Red Canyon is a must for nature lovers. The city also has several shopping centers and a multitude of dining options, meeting a range of gastronomic preferences.

Food:Above average

The culinary scene in Eilat offers a fairly diverse range of food options, from traditional Israeli cuisine to different international dishes. Fresh seafood is abundant due to the city's location on the Red Sea. There are many eateries, from budget friendly to high-end establishments, which offer a variety of dishes catering to different tastes and dietary needs. However, it might not match the food diversity found in some larger cities.

Budget:Moderate

Eilat can be experienced on a mid-range budget. Although hotels, especially beachfront ones, and high-end restaurants can be quite pricey, there are also hostels and budget accommodations available. Food costs vary with an option to eat at cheaper local markets. The main attractions like the beautiful public beaches and the Eilat Mountains Nature Reserve are free to visit, and others like the Underwater Observatory Marine Park are reasonably priced. It's recommended to research and plan ahead to keep costs under control.

Is Eilat worth visiting?

Couple travel experience

We were in Eilat for a few days at the beginning of the year and it was wonderful. We rented a car, we had a great hotel, and we even went diving in February. There were colorful deserts, hills, waterfalls, and the Dead Sea.
