It's normal and acceptable for women to be out alone. The town has a low crime rate with most reported incidents being minor, such as opportunistic theft. However, like any tourist hotspot, it's important to take standard precautions. Be careful with your belongings especially in crowded areas, and be alert of your surroundings at all times, especially at night.

Transport:Easy

Ubud is an accommodating city for solo female travelers. The small town feel makes it easy to explore by foot, and traditional motorbike rentals are common for longer distances. However, roads can be narrow with heavy traffic at times. Local drivers are familiar with the area, but beware as road rules are not strictly enforced. Locals are generally friendly and willing to give directions. English is widely understood, further ease of navigation.

Solo travel experience

Ubud has been my favourite destination in Bali. It's not on the coast and tends to ti be more rainy, however, the vibe is fantastic, especially if you're into mindful living. There are plenty of yoga classes, vegan foods, and massage centres. The hostels there were new and well kept. The monkey forest is definitely worth a visit!
