Safety:Very safe

Rhodes, is generally a safe destination for solo female travelers. The locals are friendly and are used to welcoming tourists from all over the world. However, as with any travel, one should always be cautious, especially while visiting crowded areas. Solo female travelers should also be careful during late-night roaming and always ensure that they have someone trusted knowing their whereabouts. Saying this, incidents of crime are relatively low in Rhodes and the police presence provides an added level of security.

Transport:Easy

The island of Rhodes is fairly easy to navigate, with well-signposted locations and a variety of transport options available. You can move conveniently from one attraction to another. Public transport, bicycles and walking are popular options. However, the frequency of buses can sometimes be unreliable and navigating small alleyways can be challenging. Always make sure to have navigator apps on hand.

Things to do:Interesting

Rhodes boasts a rich combination of history, beautiful landscapes, and stunning beach access. One could spend days exploring a UNESCO World Heritage site - the Medieval City of Rhodes - exploring its dozens of narrow alleys and monuments. Nature lovers can enjoy the Seven Springs, hike to Prophet Elias Monastery or relax at one of the many sun-kissed beaches. Rhodes also offers a variety of dining options, from traditional Greek tavernas to trendy cafes and bars.

Food:Above average

The food in Rhodes is a delightful mix of traditional Greek fare and international cuisine, perfect for all palates. Seafood is especially fresh and abundant, often prepared with local olive oil, herbs, and spices. If you are a keen food explorer, you will find their array of mezes (appetizers), exotic salads, gyros, souvlakis, moussaka, and baklavas quite appealing. There are also plenty of choices for vegetarians and vegans. Combining the locals' warm hospitality with their delicious food, the dining experience in Rhodes is certainly one to savor. The only downside being, if you are used to a wide variety of Asian, African, or South American cuisine, you may find the choices slightly limited.

Budget:Moderate

Rhodes is moderately budget-friendly. Expenses can vary, but on average, dining in a restaurant might cost about 15-20 Euros, while a meal from a local street food joint will cost around 5-10 Euros. Buses are an economical choice for transportation and accommodations can range from budget to high-end. It's definitely possible to enjoy Rhodes on a budget but some planning and careful spending are essential.

Group travel experience

I felt that Rhodes old town was safe to walk around in both during the days and night. I was wish with my girlfriend and we didn’t have any guys pulling and following us like in other countries I have been in. The food was really good, I live Greek food. I am also gluten intolerant and almost every retrace both pizza and pasta the was gluten free and they where really helpful with explaining what was in the food. I really love the green people m, I think k they are nice and always very helpful. I will do my first solo trip to Rhodes in April, and felt safe and thought it was a good place to to my first solo trip ☀️🌴

Solo travel experience

I was there last year in September and it was fantastic. Very safe, great places for swimming and sightseeing, and the food was amazing. People were really nice and polite. It was smaller than other islands, so it was easier to explore. I traveled to many places by bus and that was the perfect solution.

Solo travel experience

I found Rhodes to be incredibly expensive, even compared to Santorini and Mykonos. I also got the impression that the island is more geared towards families and older people, rather than a younger audience. However, I loved that there were cats everywhere on the island.
