Manizales is a small city (about 800k people) with hills and 3 main streets. It's very easy and generally safe to walk around. Other than basic recommendations for tourists, like in any other city in Colombia, better be careful around downtown or some type of neighborhoods.

Hello! I'm a graphic designer currently working in marketing. I do ceramics as a hobby from time to time.
Manizales is mostly safe for women, although it is recommended to avoid being too late at night since it’s a city that usually sleeps early and the streets get deserted around 8-9 pm. The safest areas to stay are in neighborhoods such as Palermo, Calle Larga, Cable and Milán. The best transportation tu use are taxis (you can download an app called Taxia) and the public bus.
