Safety at night:

Safety at night:Safe

Da Nang in general is comparatively safe even at night. The locals are friendly and crime rates are relatively low. However, like any other place, it is still advised to take necessary precautions when walking alone at night. Avoid unlit or desolate areas and always have a reliable mode of transport. Also, local custom generally means streets quiet down considerably after midnight.
Public transportation:

Public transportation in Da Nang can generally be considered safe, especially during daytime. Buses are notable for being reliable and often used by locals and tourists. Taxis with reputable companies are preferable because of their metered system. However, understanding the local language might be a bit challenging. It's necessary to be aware of your belongings all the time, as in any other city, but instances of theft are relatively low. Just ensure you're familiar with your route and have the address of your destination noted down in advance, especially if there's a potential language barrier.
Street harassment:

Street harassment:Low

Da Nang is a generally safe city for solo female travelers. Instances of street harassment are not prevalent and locals are often welcoming and respectful. However, like any other destination, it is still recommended to exercise caution and adhere to basic safety travel guidelines.
Petty crimes:

Petty crimes:Low

Da Nang is a relatively safe city for solo female travelers. Petty crimes like pickpocketing or purse-snatching do occur, usually in crowded places like markets or on public transportation. However, as long as you're vigilant about your belongings and steer clear of unlit, empty areas at night, it's quite unlikely that you'll encounter such issues.

Solo travel

I loved Da Nang a lot more than Nha Trang. It feels more artsy and inviting. I absolutely loved the coffee culture, where every street has a beautiful cafe that you want to sit in all afternoon. There is a more hip and art vibe to the city, which is what I enjoy in a place. There are a lot of live music spots and bars, so it seems like the nightlife is still vibrant.
