This is a bit smaller town nice by the water and a few shops that’s nice to visit. We got some nice nature outside of town and good resturants. Like an hour away from Stockholm. I feel safe walking the streets and it is only after dark it is a bit scary.

Västerås is a sage city in Sweden, it’s the fifth biggest city in Sweden, there’s some gun violence between young men in certain areas but I wouldn’t say it’s something that would affect anyone that’s not involved in the situation.

I would describe it as pretty safe. As with any city it depends on where in the city you are, however I very rarely feel unsafe. Although I do think it is safe to walk alone at night, it can be a little scary and if you are unlucky you may experience some uncomfortable situations. But all in all I would say it’s a safe city and if you’re with a friend, they will usually leave you alone.

I would say fairly safe. You can go out alone as a woman, even after dark and don't have to be afraid. Public transportation is sparse on late evenings or at night, but still safe for women. What might happen is that someone who's had a bit too much alcohol (or other substances) might try to talk to you. Risk is higher if you are young or good-looking. At night, especially on workdays, there is not much people around, since everything is closed, and you might feel uneasy. Daytime is very safe, any day. Lots of women everywhere.

It’s good transportation and not super big either. If you stay in the city you will be close to everything and there will not be any crazy stuff at night. I have walked home by myself late at night many times.
