This city is really nice and living. I worked there for 6 weeks and as Young lady I never felt unsafe. What I particulary like is that there’s a plenty of activities to chose of ;) I Would recommand you going there and pick up a nice hostel nearby the beach la cicer.

In Gran Canaria, I feel safe both day and night. The restaurants and cafes are not expensive. I have a friend in Gran Canaria, so I spend my money only on food. The beach, Las Canteras, is magical and the best for swimming.

Las Palmas (like nearly all of Spain) is a very safe city! I’ve lived here for several months and always feel comfortable, even walking alone at night. I have not heard stories of pick pocketing like when I lived in Madrid and Valencia, but of course it’s smart to always be careful. There is lots to do in and near Las Palmas - beautiful beaches, surfing, hiking, and great restaurants and bars!

I was on my first solo trip in the historical center of las palmas and I spent most on the time walking around or relaxing on beaches. Everyone there mind their own business. The only times I felt uneasy was at night when Homeless guy were comming up to me asking for money and things like that but it was only during the night. Overall it's a great city ;)
Posted: February 28, 2026The main problem we have here is with drugs, young people will often consume in a way or another but still have perfectly normal lives. I guess that happens in all cities. It is also worth mentioning the increase of immigration we are receiving and general discomfort from some of the locals since we have also been simultaneously experiencing an increase in the violent crimes in the island which has led to some racism as well. In general it is incredibly safe for tourists so y'all have nothing...
Posted: January 25, 2026The city is very safe and peaceful, a good place to live, the people are friendly and can help you if you run into trouble. I have been living here for 1 year and so far I haven't had any problems.
