How safe is Gibraltar?

Safety at night:

Safety at night:Safe

Gibraltar is generally a pretty safe place. It has a low crime rate, particularly in terms of violent crime. The local people are friendly and welcoming to tourists. However, like in any place, it's advisable to be aware of your surroundings in less crowded places or while walking alone at night. The police are also quite visible and professional, contributing to the overall safety. As always, it's best to practice common sense and precaution.
Public transportation:

Public transportation:Safe

Public transportation in Gibraltar is generally safe. Most people use buses which are reliable and well-maintained. Taxis are also safe and regulated. However, keep an eye out for pickpockets and ensure your belongings are secure, especially during peak hours or in crowded spaces. Regular transit users are locals, tourists and people commuting to work, making the environment fairly safe. As a solo female traveler, you should feel comfortable during travel, but maintaining general safety precautions is always beneficial.
Street harassment:

Street harassment:Low

Gibraltar, technically a British overseas territory located near the southern tip of Spain, is generally safe, respectful and aware of the rights and safety of women. Harassment is not a prevalent issue. The locals are amicable and police presence is highly visible. However, like all places, non-peak hours may still pose minor safety risks and it is advised to stay in well-populated areas and watch out for personal belongings.
Petty crimes:

Petty crimes:Low

Gibraltar is generally considered a safe destination, with a very low occurrence of petty crimes. While pickpocketing, bag-snatching, or theft can happen, it is not common, and tourists are rarely targeted. However, always practice caution and be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded tourist areas.

Is Gibraltar worth visiting?

Solo travel

I have been to Gibraltar many times, it's really a vibrant place. A great choice also for those traveling alone, as there is a lot to do, and on top of that it's really safe. Accommodation can be quite expensive, so it's worth considering Airbnb.

Solo travel

I was in Gibraltar on the way to Morocco and it was amazing. It's a shame that I didn't have more time there. The caves and the view from the top are simply breathtaking. Moreover, I strongly advise against wearing a dress/skirt, as it can be very windy at the top.
