Is Calatayud safe for solo female travelers?

Calatayud is generally a safe city for solo female travelers. Like most locations in Spain, the crime rate is pretty low and the locals are generally friendly and welcoming. Nevertheless, like any other tourist destination one should always remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings, and keep their belongings secure at all times to prevent pickpocketing or petty thefts. It's also advised to stick to the well-lit and populated areas especially during night time.
