In May I was for 7 day break in Benalmadena. The town caters for all ages. Local bars at the far end of the resort like Nico's and the Halfpenny Bridge and for that sofisicated night cap there's the Art cafe. Buses along the costa route are cheap and not busy at this time of year. Taxis are resonable. If you want to rent a car beware parking along the coast, it's a nightmare. Like most resorts pickpockets are a problem especially at bus stops taxi ranks or anywhere busy (markets) just be practical and you'll be fine. Overall a great resort that you can have what you want quite/relaxed or loud/ crazy and the people are really honest and helpful.

The restaurants in the local area are cheaper than on the beach (I would recommend to go to Arroyo de la miel). Cheap public transportation if you buy travel card from tobacco shop (normally you can pay with cash only). Don't miss out the Castillo de Colomares, the Cable car, the butterfy park, the Stupa and the Parque Paloma if you visit Benalmadena.
