Is Plettenberg Bay Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

Plettenberg Bay is moderately safe for solo female travelers. While the town itself is generally safe and locals are friendly and helpful, it's important to stay vigilant particularly in secluded areas. As a solo traveler, it is advised to avoid isolated areas, especially during after-dark hours. Safety in South Africa varies widely by location, so it's recommended to keep a low profile, not display wealth and stick to well-populated areas.

Is Plettenberg Bay worth visiting?

Solo travel

For sure safer than Joburg, but still South Africa so had to be vigilant. I recommend hiking Robberg, it was absolutely gorgeous. The people in Plett are so friendly and kind. The weather is strange, 4 seasons in a day.
