Sønderborg is very save in the means of walking around, although bikes sometimes get stolen. There has been an incident where a girl was stabbed, but in the 7 months I've lived here, it's the only thing I've heard about. Apparently there is also a drug scene, but as someone who is not involved in that kind of stuff, I have never actually noticed any of that kind. Sonderborg is very safe. Kind of a small town with less than 30.000 citizens . The only time you would have to worry about safety is after dark, walking alone in areas where other people can’t be seen. And even then, I would consider it safe
