Welkenraedt is a very safe village. The police and firefighters are present, and the residents look out for each other. In 20 years, nothing has ever happened here, except for a few burglaries. However, I advise you not to linger at the train station at night, as Welkenraedt is the last station on the Belgian train line, and some young people from Liège or Verviers (less safe cities) may hang out at the station.
