I spent four weeks in Lugano while working in a nearby little town and absolutely loved the atmosphere. Lugano feels safe, especially when in a group. I wouldn’t recommend walking alone late at night near the bar or pier areas, but overall, the city has a relaxed, welcoming vibe.
