I'm currently living in Iceland, but can't host because I am leaving to travel for a while. I grew up in England to Irish and Indian family. I know a fair bit about travel in England, Ireland and Iceland which I'm happy to share. I'm sensitive to noise, not fond of heat or mornings, prone to info-dumping; but otherwise chilled and up for anything :)

My friend lives in Reykjavík which is why I visited Iceland quite regularly. The overall crime rate is the lowest I have ever experienced. The people are very kind and open minded. Despite the amazing nature outside of the capital, Reykjavík has a very outgoing and healthy party and bar culture. Although everything is a bit more pricey, I can definitely recommend visiting Iceland.

I absolutely adored Iceland, and I’m already planning to go back. I rented a car and drove around the ring road in 7 days, staying and hostels and guesthouses along the way. I felt completely safe travelling solo. In fact, I met many people from all over the world who were quite friendly. Locals were polite but not overly friendly unless you befriended them with a good chat or coffee. The food is quite expensive—I only ate out twice and bought items from grocery stores for the majority of my trip. I recommend finding accommodations where breakfast is included, if possible. The geographical and geological variety of this place is spectacular—you can drive down the main highway and find something breathtaking almost ever 5-15 minutes! A lot of beauty is right along the main road, but you can also take the F-roads for more untouched nature, but be sure to rent a 4x4 or AWD vehicle for these purposes. Volcanoes, lava fields, waterfalls, ice caves, black sand beaches, geysers, natural hot springs, basalt columns, fjords, lagoons and icebergs—the list goes on and on. I can’t wait to return!

Hi everyone, I’m a Polish-American living in the New York City area. I’ve always enjoyed traveling, and just recently have started to go solo! I’m a historian so I’m always looking for niche cultural spots and museums wherever I am. Also, love meeting new people to party or go out for a drink and try interesting restaurants with! 🤍☺️ Reach out if you’re ever in the New York City area! Always happy to show off all the sights and local spots :)
