Balatonfured was a good experience! It has a relaxed atmosphere, with mainly Hungarian local tourists it is off the main tourist path. It has plenty to do, with the promenade giving lovely views of the lake, aquarium, playgrounds, parks, shops, modern art gallery, museum and tourist train. There is also a beach for swimming, boats and plenty of restaurants and bars. There is also a ferry you can take across to the other side of the lake.
