Based on 30 experiences
Activities kinda expensive, as I feel in Finland usually is. Went skiing and snowboarding. Also visited Superpark one day.(indoor activity park) There is also a spa/waterpark, which was nice option between outdoor activities, as the weather was freezing cold (over -20c degrees) Overall lovely ecperience, I just love Finnish winter, so magical 🩵❄️🏂
Posted: March 28, 2025We spent 2 weeks there We land in Helsinki. We took a night train to Rovianemi right away because it was already late in the season and we wanted to enjoy the last snow in the North as much as possible. (There are really confy and cabin are made for two) The city is dead at this time of the year (like most of the other cities in the North) Over there, it's simpler to land a car because it doesn't cost that much and there is not a lot of public transport. The landscapes are the same most if the time, and you have to make big distances. We visited the Sami center and did sled dog in Inari, cross country skiing and snow bike at Formiguères, and 2-3 hikes in different national parks. They are well indicated, but be careful, you can't do them all according to the season. Don't hesitate to ask at the information center ! We were supposed to stay 2 days at Oulu but there was not much to see in the city so we changed our mind and spend more time in Turku (many museums, a castle and cathedrals, restaurants, it's a real living city even when there are no tourists) Many airbnb have saunas, I really appreciate it ! Helsinki is full of gift shop. We didn't have the time to see the lakes in the East of the country.

Hi there! I'm Nina, and I've been living in the south side of Chicago for over ten years! When I'm not plotting my next adventure, I'm hanging out with my black lab mix Dracula, crafting small leather goods like wallets and keychains, or going to concerts! Despite my eagerness to travel and go go go, I love watching movies and binging tv shows on the couch with my pup. I was born and raised in St. Louis, MO and when I took my first trip to Chicago in 2010, I got an overwhelming feeling of joy for experiencing new places! Since then, I've been to about half of the US states, Niagara falls in Canada, Cancun & Cozumel in Mexico. Most recently, I was able to spend some time in Scandinavia visiting Copenhagen, Stockholm, Bergen, Molde, and Oslo. In May I'll be going to Lisbon, Portugal for a week to see my favorite band KGLW and then in August they have their first US music fest in Colorado I'll be attending! I got the travel bug hard and I'm currently trying to plan a return to Scandinavia with stops in Tallin, Estonia and Turku, Finland for December! In April 2026 I have a trip planned with EF Ultimate break to go to Thailand, and I'm looking to extend and stay in Bali, or Laos!

Hi! I’m Andrea from Hong Kong and I’m doing a solo trip across the Schengen Area in April. I like to experience new countries through locals so I’d love it if there are some hospitable people out there who could host me! I’m down for city breaks, countryside outings and anything in between. I am clean, easygoing and have been co-housing for years so I am a respectful housemate. I look forward to meeting you! :)
