I had a great time! Overall, I felt safe. I asked around and was advised not to go to a certain area of the town, and I didn’t. Walking alone during the day was no problem. At night, I tried to go out less, but there was no problem in the town center. The local people were super friendly. I went on several excursions: took a boat trip, did a jeep tour to the waterfalls and distilleries where cachaça is made.
