Florianopolis, affectionately known as Floripa, is a vibrant and breathtaking city located in Southern Brazil in the state of Santa Catarina. It is renowned for its stunning sandy beaches, rich in biodiversity and fancied by surfers worldwide for its perfect waves. This charming island city is enveloped by the Atlantic Ocean, offering a perfect blend of Brazilian culture, historical colonial architecture, and modern urban development. Famous for its fresh seafood and unique Azorean culture carried down from its early Portuguese settlers, Florianopolis also offers diverse nightlife scenes, lush green landscapes, hiking trails, and lagoons, making it an exciting destination for adventurers and relaxation seekers alike.

It is a really nice city, the public transportation is not good at all so I recommend having a bike or a car rented. Overall people were really kind, of course in the center of the city is more dangerous so you need to be extra careful there

I was in Florianópolis for 7 days. I started in the south of the island where I explored the chilly beaches and the nightlife with friends from around the world. Later, I went to the north of the island where the beaches are calmer and there are many families.
