Esma
Hi ✨ I am Esma, currently living and working in Sarajevo (BiH). Traveling and discovering new places, meeting new people, and tasting food are some of my greatest joys, especially when it comes to desserts 🍨🍫🍬. Exploring different cultures and trying new activities keeps my life exciting, and I love sharing these experiences with others, as I like to hear and read about other people's travel experiences.

I came to Sarajevo the third time and wanted to dry a bit longer to get a better impression. Sarajevo is easy and cheap to discover by public transport or taxi apps during the night in case the tram is taking too long. For vegan food there I few options but you can still get along. Vegetarians already have a better access to local food. Most traditional dishes though have meat. The pub scene is amazing and there’s also some queer alternative or leftist places - hit me up if you wanna check them out :). Culture and history wise there is a lot to learn. The museums about the genocide are a bit more expensive but must-do once you’re already there. There is a huge cultural Programm varying from music, theatre and cinema places. When it comes to nature Bosnia has a huge number of places to offer. In Sarajevo itself there is Trebevic, but once you rent a relatively cheap car and get a bit more out of the capital you’ve got amazing views and hikes available.
Posted: February 2, 2025I felt safe in Sarajevo but I don’t know if that’s because i was with my family or not but I think it’s a calm city. I didn’t feel particularly alarmed. Just be aware of your surroundings but I wouldn’t say that it’s dangerous to solo travel here.

Hello! I’m Stephanie, an American living in Burgundy, France (temporarily). I’m here to plan for some solo trips I’d like to take next month. If anyone is in southern Burgundy, Lyon, or Dijon and wants some tips or to meet up, I can be available! I love food and cooking, history, knitting, nature walks and hiking, and goth music.
