Hii! My name is Rosa, and I'm a 23-year-old Finnish woman. I love new adventures, pretty rocks and constantly learning from the world around me. I study social sciences since I have a drive to make a positive impact to the society and community that has given me so much and also help those in need. Right now I'm writing my bachelor's thesis on the impact of heteronormativity. I live with multiple housemates in a big house, because I love having a bit of life around the house and meeting new people (friends of friends etc.). Is Kuopio safe for women?

Kuopio is a relatively safe city. There's small amount of violent crime related to drugs, but if you stay out of drug user circles and don't hang around shady people you should be good. There's a moderate chance that especially conventionally pretty women get catcalled after dark, followed by men or sexually harassed. Sexual harassment at bars is common. However, chances of getting raped by strangers are very low. There's moderate risk of date rape and sexual assault. Be careful who you go home with or invite into your hotel room.
