Moikka! I am Stella, a mexican living in Finland since 2020 and married to a Finnish man. I was quite active in Couchsurfing before I got married, but my last solo travel encounters with people (men) over there was terrible and overwhelming, so I am happy that this app exists!. I am into feminism 🪻💜, books 📚, DIY, Knitting and crocheting 🧶🪡🧵 Upcycling and a bunch of other activities. I am often in Geneva 🇨🇭for family reasons, I volunteer in The Human Library as a Human Book, and I've been starting to travel to Zürich for this reason too. In Helsinki I held meetings of only woman for spanish speakers, native speakers or students of the language. My native language is Spanish and I am fluent in English, currently I speak in a basic level finnish and Swedish (muuminsvenska).

Is Helsinki safe for women?

Super safe. Use a bike light and helmet. I have heard so so few stories of anything bad happening. There are some strange people on the street that make me feel uncomfortable, but they keep to themselves.

Helsinki is very safe place to visit and I speak from first-hand experience. The public transportation in Helsinki is very good and uskalla on time. Overall the crime rates are low. As a woman I feel safe generally in Finland.
