Kadıköy is a safe area overall. At the center you can walk or stay with safely. I can say that it's a saved area in Istanbul, and for me it's the place which i most feel safe. But after 1-2 am at seaside which called Rıhtım, it would be good to be carefull. The upside of Kadıköy like Moda is much more safe for seaside.
Posted: March 27, 2025Kadıköy is generally crowded but safe. I feel uneasy around Barlar Street because I don’t want to encounter a drunk person and face any issues. However, I haven’t had any problems so far. I’ve passed through Barlar Street several times on my way to Moda Beach without any trouble, but I do get uneasy if it’s dark and quiet. The Asian side of Istanbul is generally calmer and safer compared to the European side, though it’s still important to take precautions. Ferries from Kadıköy connect to various destinations on the European side and to the islands. Public transportation, like buses and the metro, is very convenient.
Posted: March 12, 2025I live in Kadıköy, İstanbul. As a woman of course I’m scared about sexually assaulted etc. but Kadıköy is a free, safe place for people. It’s crowded and a very-known tourist attraction. There’s police everywhere in Kadıköy. Also local people are so welcoming. But of course everyone needs to be careful about theft. So Kadıköy is a safe and fun place. I hope you enjoy there!
