Bangkok is quite safe people is friendly, but you have to beware as well, because people are different. I live in Minburi outside the city my hometown quite safe and mostly are local area and not far from the city
Posted: October 30, 2024Very safe you can walk alone at night but just be smart. What's not safe is the sidewalk because they're not well made. They're made to break down shortly for corruption procurement. Traffic can be quite heavy in many areas and Thais do not respect road rules so you could get hit by anything any time.
Posted: July 14, 2024This is one of the most cities I’ve visited so far in Asia. Men are not cat calling girls and I’ve always feel safe here. I also love that services like Grab offer an option for ladies only, this means I can feel even more safe by taking a cab at night because I know there will be a woman driving.

I have been living in Bangkok for over 15 years now. I would say it is pretty safe for solo traveling, it is safe for a lady. However, beware of surrounding environment and people, do not go to dark spots alone should be keep in mind.
Posted: May 14, 2024Most of the time I felt safe in Bangkok, in my daily life, I travel alone to and back from work around Sukhumvit and Thonburi. The time when I felt unsafe is when taking taxi at the night, so suggest to take public transport if you can or you have to have someone going with you when taking taxi otherwise things will be very fine in Bangkok! :-)
Posted: April 4, 2024Bangkok is safe for women to come alone. The journey is not difficult but the weather is quite hot. Popular locations for foreigners may have additional fees. If you don't want to reject it clearly. If you come alone, we don't recommend traveling at night. Even though Thailand is safe, it's better to be careful.
Posted: February 29, 2024As a Colombian I was very used to being afraid of taking my phone out, but mostly pf walking by myself, especially because I como from a very sexist country. But living in Bangkok for almost 2 months I have never experienced an event in which I felt scared or anything like it.

Hey I was solo traveling for 3 days in Bangkok. I slept in the „hift hostel“ for about 128 bath per day. It was very close to the city and I really liked the hostel but the beds are very uncomfortable hard haha The hostel has really nice rooftop the view is incredible. It’s a really calm hostel where just a few people are talking to each other. I was walking around with a crop top and shorts and felt mostly safe so don’t be scared If you want to visit the temples you need to wear something over your shoulder Okay by

Hey, I’m Blanka and I’m doing my exchange semester in Bangkok. I’m planning to travel around Thailand in the upcoming months before going back to the Netherlands and I would love to meet new people!🥰

I am currently staying in Thailand for the next 6 months for study/placement. I am 32, originally from the UK where I am doing my PhD in parasitology. I am a bit of an introvert but hate to waste my time out here sitting in my room in my spare time. I'd love to go out and explore Bangkok or other parts of Thailand while I'm here, but the idea of doing that alone scares me.
