In my experience Stockholm is generally a very safe city for women. Public transport is very safe. I've hardly ever experienced harassment on the street. I am a white, heterosexual woman, therefore it's a little bit difficult for me to write about safety for women who identify as LGBTQ, wear religious clothing, are black etc.
Posted: September 10, 2024I often go running alone at night and have never felt unsafe. There are some neighborhoods that are less safe, but the downtown area has always felt OK in my opinion. Like most cities, you just need to know which parks or areas to avoid at night.
Posted: September 1, 2024I would say Stockholm is fairly safe. The reason I'm sometimes a little worried is because you can always be unlucky. I've never had anything too worrisome happen to me. Avoid if possible walking around alone at night time, as a precaution.
Posted: August 26, 2024I feel safe during both the day and night in Stockholm, however I’m quite masculine which I think makes me feel more safe than a lot of other women. I’m also white. But I rarely if ever am bothered by unknown men.
Posted: August 19, 2024It has some areas in the suburbs that are known for gang criminality and shooting have happened outside of these areas. But it is always targeted at the people involved so I still feel rather safe in the non-affected areas.
Posted: August 12, 2024I always feel safe walking after sunsets or taking the public transportation. I would walk in parks alone after dark though. It’s common sense not walking I dark parks or to visit some suburbs in the middle of the night. Then I would be a bit scared. It’s always safe to walk on streets with lights in city centre. If you want you cane take a taxi or public transportation. That is safe.

Stockholm is a really safe and calm city! For solo female travelers, it’s of no concern I would say. You can feel really safe around here. I have personally never experienced any safety issues and I feel pretty comfortable walking around the city late at night

I’d say that the inner city is mostly safe but once you get to outside the borders it’s more unsafe since it is a lot of gang violence and shootings along the blue subway line. I’d try to avoid the blue subway line towards Akalla, and Fruängen and south of red line can also have some sketchy places.

Stockholm is very very safe. Swedish are trusting police, society and each other. Its easy to ask for help. But Swedish might Also be a bit booring. The standard yes to be high in hotels and hostel. Sweden is a cheap country right now except of having a drink.
Posted: July 6, 2024Rather safe, but depends on the area, stay in central areas and small cities and you’ll do just fine. There are security guards during night hours and on weekends so if something happens you can turn to them

I recently visited Stockholm and had an amazing time! Here are some highlights from my trip: **Safety:** I felt very safe throughout my stay in Stockholm. The city is well-maintained, and the people are friendly and helpful. **Things to Do:** I highly recommend exploring the various museums and historical sites. The Vasa Museum is a must-see, showcasing a preserved 17th-century ship. Also, take a stroll through Gamla Stan, the old town, which is full of charming streets and shops. If you have time, visit Djurgården for beautiful parks and attractions. **Food and Restaurants:** The food in Stockholm is delicious! I enjoyed visiting an Asian food cafe in a shopping mall, which offered a variety of tasty dishes. I also had a delightful experience at a local cafe, enjoying coffee and a traditional Swedish bun. The food scene here is diverse and caters to all tastes. **Budget:** I spent around 300 EUR for my 5-day trip, which was quite reasonable. This included food, transport, and some shopping. **Accommodation:** I stayed at a friend's place, which made my trip more economical. However, there are plenty of hotels and hostels available to suit all budgets. **Transport:** Getting around Stockholm is very convenient. The public transport system is efficient, clean, and easy to navigate. I mainly used buses and the metro, which were both reliable and timely. **People:** The locals are very kind and helpful. I always felt welcome and had no trouble asking for directions or recommendations. **Itinerary:** I spent my days exploring the city, visiting museums, and enjoying local cafes and restaurants. I also made time for some shopping and leisurely walks in the parks. Overall, Stockholm is a beautiful city with a rich cultural heritage and a welcoming atmosphere. I had a wonderful time and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable travel experience.
Posted: July 27, 2024Experienced: April, 2024I felt mostly safe in the city, everyone was respectfull and peacefull. Even alone at night, the streets were quite empty but mostly well lighted and didn't had any problems as a solo traveler. I went tobars alome as well again, a simple no was enough to keep the umwanted attention away. It's an expensive city so I mainly ait from the supermarket. Bu the bar Stampen in Gamla Stan was quite nice (expensive though). Bartenders always kept my stuff and drink safe when I went to bathroom etc. I stayed in a hostel room of 12 people and almost all of them were men so next time I would choose a smaller room and maybe an all female but still I haven't had any issues.

Stockholm is full of nature. If you have a tent with you, I definitely recommend staying in a nature reserve. There are many places with beautiful sunsets. You should definitely get "Too Good To Go". You can get a lot of food there for a reasonable price. The best surprise bags are available at the espresso house and Lindquist's Pastry in Stockholm.

Sea, lake, river, ocean and forests give me peace. Stockholm has a very beautiful sea and I liked it very much. Even though the weather was not very hot when I went, I had a wonderful time. I met a Mexican photographer. Thanks to him, I shot with a professional camera and we chatted. I liked it very much and I want to go again. Because there are still so many things, museums and events I want to do, experience and see. it is a wonderful city.
