It's a very safe city. You can walk alone in the dark, although I wouldn't do it past 2 am. in streets without traffic. I've never been robbed or experienced any kind of sexual harassment. It's a quiet and safe city above all.
Posted: March 10, 2024I came to Cadiz by bus from Malaga. From the station it is a 15 min walk to the centre. I stayed at an apartment, by myself, in the centre for 3 days. I am vegan and there are some very good options for lunch, snacks and diner. I loved hanging around at the beach and to just get lost in all the beautiful streets. I always felt very safe. I wish I could have stayed longer as the atmosphere was very nice.
Posted: February 23, 2024Experienced: January, 2024Wonderful place for solo backpackers and digital nomads. Cadiz is a small port city on the southern coast of Spain. Beautiful architecture and right on the coast. Groceries are affordable and the local market Had some of the best mangoes I’ve had in my life! Very walkable and friendly people. There is a university in Cadiz as well so there’s plenty of young people and Erasmos students to meet. Nightlife is fun but not crazy like the larger Spanish cities. It is much easier/enjoyable if you speak some Spanish. Many do speak English but as in any country, native language is preferable.
